Kingdom of Bhutan Weathering Storms on Two Fronts -Ewen Bell Reports
Photographer Ewen Bell was recently in the kingdom of Bhutan in the Himalayas running another series of photography workshops, which were very successful, but he was troubled by two issues that are seriously afflicting Bhutan. One is some poor economic decisions taken following the COVID outbreak that saw a significant reduction in one tourism sector. But the other was a brain drain where about 10 per cent of the brightest citizens have left the Himalayan state to choose life in Perth Western Australia. Ewen explains the issues to Graeme Kemlo
