The Entertainment Book NowTravel Discount App -Heidi Halson with Graeme Kemlo
Heidi Halson launched The Entertainment Book in Australia more than 20 years ago, but the original coupon system that gave you access to dining and entertainment discounts has been rreinvented by the group as a smartphone app and now also includes a significant lineup of the big names in travel – think cruise lines, airlines, major hoptels, as well as shopping and entertainment discounts from more than 15,000 merchants. It costs $70 to join and part 20 per cent of that subscription goes to a charity you choose. Since it began more than $100 million has been donated to charity. Heidi gives an example of a Nile River Cruise on which a family saved $6000. The discounts azre better because the company is funded by its share of subscriptions and advertising revenue, not by taking a commission from the merchants., as Heidi explains.
