Travel Writer Alistair Smith doesn’t mind going the long way around as he tells me in this interview about a recent outback drive from Melbourne to Gold Coast Queensland, which he admits could have been covered in about two days. Instead it lasted four weeks and he covered 8000 km. However, Alistair clearly had a great experiences in the outback bush stopping to explore some fascinating towns and unique experiences.
