Auther Simon Tancred on ANZAC POWs WWII Escape From Italy -Mike Smith
Simon Tancred’s love of hiking is such that he has walked more than 15,000 kilometres across Italy. His love affair with the country’s trails began in 1993 when he launched Hidden Italy guided and self-guided walking tours. The company today thrives on taking up to 1000 walkers a year. One of those treks is featured in Simon’s new book – Trails to Freedom – the true story of medieval trails used by ANZAC prisoners of war to escape German-occupied Italy in 1943-44.
