– In the 1850s the central Victorian town of Bendigo was one of the richest in the Commonwealth, producing more than 700,000 kilograms of gold. They say there are still reefs under the city and you can tour Central Deboprah goldmine about 200 metres down, but the now look to a ddifferent type of “gold”to draw a crowd.
