Emily McAuliffe is a Melbourne travel writer who recently was invited to spend five days in the pure luxury of Fiji’s Turtle Island, the exclusive resort where they filmed Blue Lagoon, which was a pretty risqué movie for its time. But the film inspired the resort owner to build more bures and plant more tropical vegetation to give guests a taste of island living. The rest is history. With only 14 couples on the island at any one time, it is an all-inclusive retreat where you can have your own beach and Emily found plenty to do as she explains to Graeme Kemlo.
