In the recent Austrtalian Tourism Awards the Big4 Holiday Park on the Gold Coast took out the Gold Award which caused us to wonder just how this sector of the tourism industry had evolved from the days when you pitched a tent on a square of grass to today’s sophisticated family adventure parks with a broad range of accommodation on site, pools, playgrounds, water parks, even restaurants.
