The USA introduced tighter immigration and visitor entry requirements from January 1, which include enhanced ID requirements even for Australians who have been part of the Visa Waiver Program. Graeme Kemlo reports that further tightening of entry requirements could come as soon as February 9, when it may require 5 years of social media and email history, 5 years of phone number history, and details on family members. Under the President’s executive orders, if you don’t disclose a social media handle, it will be regarded as “material misrepresentation”, and you could risk being banned from entering the USA.
