Minneapolis-based Reporter Kristin Henning on Killing by ICE Agent
Federal ICE agents deployed by the White House to Democrat-run States and cities, including Minneapolis, were captured on video surrounding a vehicle into which three shots were fired, killing an unarmed 37-year-old mother of three. Suddenly, Minneapolis, Minnesota, was back in the news for all the wrong reasons, particularly as the federal administration, including President Trump, sought to rewrite the narrative of the video that had been viewed by millions across the nation and around the world, suggesting the dead woman was a “domestic terrorist”.
Tonight we speak with our reporter Kristin Henning in Minneapolis, who also covered George Floyd’s death at the hands of police in May 2020.
Videos of the incident are readily found online but New York Times has a broad coverage -https://www.nytimes.com/video/us/100000010631041/minneapolis-ice-shooting-video.html
You can make up your own mind about the deadly incident, but Kris gives context to the events and the city’s reaction to 2000 ICE agents being deployed under executive order. We also hear from the local mayor, Jacob Frey.
