Should Great Ocean Road Be Tolled – One Tourism Operator Thinks So -Graeme Kemlo
Damien Cerantonio is a tourism operator who owns the Great Ocean Road Resort in Anglesea. He is also Chair of Business Events Victoria which is responsible for meetings and events in regional Victoria. In a conversation with Graeme Kemlo about the future of Victoria’s famous oceanside road built by returned WWI diggers between 1919 and 1932, Damien was asked whether tolls should be introduced and speaking as a tour operator, he said he believed tolls should be considered as part of a wider conversation. GOR is Victoria’s best-known international tourist attraction, and while numbers have not returned to pre-COVID levels, international visitation is building back.
