#Worth1000Words – Fiona Harper Kakadu Billabong With Bite
This week’s #Worth1000Words image is from Fiona Harper, who writes:
“I’ve travelled all over the world, yet prior to relocating to Darwin to work on a project with Tourism NT, I’d never seen two of Australia’s famous icons: Kakadu and Uluru. I quickly fixed that. Cruising through Yellow Waters Billabong in Kakadu, we spotted so much wildlife it was hard to know where to focus my camera. But this obliging saltie knew how to capture my attention. Silently gliding through the billabong, he ‘posed’ within a colourful patch of blooming lilies, creating a magical moment that reminds me of everything I love about Kakadu. Its raw wildness, serenity and the beauty of an ancient land remains little changed in 60,000-odd years. It’s absolutely mesmerizing.
