#Worth1000Words Karin Avila On 3 Kings
Los Reyes Magos, or Three Kings Day, is one of the most highly anticipated holidays in Spain, celebrated on January 6th, 12 days after Christmas. Three Kings Day celebrates the baby Jesus, and the arrival of the Three Wisemen who bring frankincense, gold, and myrrh. Sometimes arriving by helicopter, other times by parachute or the more traditional mode of camel, colorful parades bring the celebration to life throughout the Iberian Peninsula. Spanish families exchange gifts and indulge in the traditional roscón cake. If you’re lucky and take a bite with the plastic figurine, you’re designated king for the day.
