Reporter Carolyne Jasinski speaks with passionate microbiologist and Reef Sleep manager Greg Hoare, who says the reef in this area is in pretty good shape. Carolyne enjoyed a memorable experience sleeping on a pontoon in the middle of the ocean, directly on the Great Barrier Reef. It was another form of her favourite accommodation – glamping. Reef Sleep is about two hours by boat from Hamilton Island in Queensland’s southern Great Barrier Reef.
